The Powermatic PM2244 1-3/4HP Drum Sander (1792244) is a powerful workhorse that will faithfully flatten and smooth the toughest hardwoods for years to come. With its precision-flattened, reinforced steel bed and cast iron drum carriage, it's built to churn out the flattest panels, all sanded to a smooth, consistent finish. It boasts a digital control panel that provides an easy-to-read snapshot of all the machine's settings, making it easy to set your drum height, or determine how much material the sander will remove in a pass. In addition, the intelligent feed logic continually monitors the load on the drum motor, and the conveyor self-adjusts accordingly to provide the smoothest possible finish without overloading the motor or the sandpaper. As usual with Powermatic machines, fit and finish is superb. From the solid steel hood and large chrome handwheel, to the sturdy infeed and outfeed tables you'll be impressed with every detail. Even changing the drum wraps is a breeze with the tool-free spring-loaded clips. Casters are included to make moving your machine around the shop an easy task.
